UNCERTAIN GERMANIC TRIBES, Pseudo-Imperial coinage. Circa 2nd quarter of the 4th century. Follis (Bronze, 17 mm, 2.78 g, 8 h), imtating Constantine II as Caesar (316-337), after 320. AIIBBBIIASBIIIII Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Constantine II to left, holding Victory on globe in his right hand. Rev. EBD[...]BSBCBB / BSAS✱ Inscribed vexillum between two captives flanked by two blundered letters. Cf. RIC 118 (for prototype). A beautiful piece with a charming rendering of an elaborate Roman bust type. Light areas of weakness and with a minor flan crack, otherwise, about extremely fine.
